Up One Level

In the previous section we looked at the ability of Danic Tools to include all of the people associated with your organization. Still we need to differentiate the nature of their association, i.e. define the different roles these people play in your organization. Not surprisingly we call this object "Role".

When you set up Danic Tools, you will need to define the roles various people play in your organization. You need only start with some basic roles, e.g. client and staff roles. You can add roles and associate these roles with people in your database at any time.

You will almost certainly have different sets of cases and collect different information for people in different roles. People can have one or more roles and each role has a start date and an end date. Leaving the end date blank simply means that the person is still active in that role. This allows you to run a census of persons in different roles for different periods or points in time.

By definition - a role is the function that a person plays with/for your organization.
