This utility allows for the extraction and transfer of information between Danic Version 2.2 and other software programs. The utility is designed for system administrators who want to move data from another database application into Danic Tools or vice versa. The Bridge can be configured to import specific data at pre-set times. The Administrator can accept all data or selected data from that ready for import. According to Jonathan Benton, Danics President, This utility is a key object in Danics tool box as it allows Danic to work behind the scenes with other agency software. In so doing, Danic provides a truly comprehensive software solution for agencies. Danic eliminates the need for agencies to jettison existing software in order to realize the many benefits of system integration. Data is extracted and saved in XML format. XML has fast become the de facto standard in business-to-business transactions. Danic has also committed to the XML-based strategy for compliance with the HIPPA transaction codes, a strategy advanced last year by the ebXML Task Force. Danic Technology Inc. is a privately held company founded in 1994. Canadian operations are based in Ottawa, Ontario; U.S. operations, in Boston, Massachusetts. The company provides software, Danic Tools, and related implementation and support services. The Danic Tools software package is a fully customizable, 32-bit application. This person-centered, object-relational, database management system (ORDMS) is designed to support affordable, integrated, enterprise systems expressly for health and human service agencies. Danic is built to integrate easily with other applications and databasesin order to anchorcomprehensive agency solutions. A windows-based, web-enabled product, Danic Tools runs on a PC network and over the internet. The system may be administered by the user agency or by Danic Technology as a web-based Application Service Provider (ASP). The hallmark of Danic Tools is the ease with which it can be configured and reconfigured to fit the particular and changing needs ofagencies without changing the sourcecode, i.e. with little or no vendor help. It is being used by developmental disabilities, behavioral health, substance abuse, child and family service, elder service, juvenile justice, EAP and other types of agencies. It is commonly used for client management, but increasingly for the management of human resources, job shop operations, fund raising and other purposes.
