Convergent Engineering

Convergent Engineering is an integrated approach to designing applications to work like the organizations that use them. In Convergent Engineering, a model of the structure of an organization and the flow of its processes is created. This business model naturally provides a corresponding application model and database model to implement the organization's business in software. All three models have converged into one business model. The result of this is a database and an application designed to emulate the operation of the organization. This simplifies maintenance, since whenever the organization changes the way it does business then the application is changed in the same way.
